In this post I will share with you some tips on how to remain consistent at blogging - One of the monstrous challenges bloggers face when getting into the swing of blogging, past the stage of starting their blog’s usually in the 3rd or 4th month of blogging, is how to create great content on a consistent or regular basis.
I won’t deny it; creating content on a regular basis is damn well hard. Creating high quality content on a regular basis is even harder. So how do you face such a challenge?
Read : How to Create Interesting Content
Before I begin let me just say, I’ve been there many times before myself. I’ll open up a blank page in word document and scratch my head for about 20 minutes before thinking of something awesome to write about. I’ll probably have a cup of tea or two before even starting on the headline… Even after blogging for 2 years it still remains challenging at the best of times.

So how do you go about staying laser focused and consistent at blogging? Check out my three tips below –
Staying Consistent at Blogging Tips
1. Have a blogging schedule
You’ve probably heard me mention this before on my blog many times before, but being organized and having a blogging schedule is the key to staying consistent at blogging. You see if you’re use to meeting a deadline, 9 times out of 10 you’ll meet that deadline. The best way to create a deadline is to plan out what posts you’re going to write for the week ahead, that’s exactly what I do.
If I plan to write 4 great posts, and make the rest up in guest posts, then I know I need to get 4 really good posts out in the seven days that I plan to do it in. Give it a try for yourself!

2. Write about the things you love the most
If you’ve selected your blogging niche very carefully, you should be able to write about the things you love to rant about the most. This is very important for succeeding in blogging in general. One of the reasons why so many newbie bloggers flop at the first or second hurdle even is because they’ve picked a niche which they knew nothing about, or had very little interest in, and two months down the line, they lose all interests in writing about it. Blog about the things you love most and you’ll have no trouble staying consistent at blogging.
3. Forget about the myth that you should be writing everyday
I know what you’re thinking, how can you be consistent if you don’t write every day. I don’t believe in the theory or ‘myth’ of having to write everyday to remain consistent at blogging. In my mind that’s pure BS at its brutal best…
What is the point in writing about everything you love most about your niche in such a hurry? Why share everything at once? If you’re going at roadrunner speed, you’ll burn out and run out of ideas fast, that I can guarantee, and before you know it, you’ll have nothing to write about.
Instead take your time. Write 3 or 4 top quality posts per week and put everything into it. If you’ve made a list of let’s say 100 posts ideas you want to write about, spread them out over the course of a couple of months or so.
Well folks that’s my three tips for staying consistent at blogging, over to you now readers, let me know your own thoughts, or perhaps you have a few tips you’d like to add to the list above. Please leave me your comments below.

I agree that you don’t have to post everyday, UNLESS you are a big blog like say TMZ where you have millions of visitors or say Tech Crunch. Big blogs should post multiple times a day if they have the staff/budget for it.
Gino recently posted..How to Search Engine Optimize Blog Images
I totally agree with you too, Gino. Big blogs such as those related to showbiz or who represent a big company typically have the staff/budget and many other things in order to run their blogs with daily posts. Ordinary bloggers must do almost all of the tasks (SEO, writing, researching, etc, blog promotion) that are required to keep their blogs going.
Hi Gino, thanks for your comment mate. Yes of course those kinds of blog have posts going out everyday from multiple authors due to the size of it’s audience. But even with a blog with a decent amount of traffic and readers I don’t think posting everyday is a must in any case. It’s much simpler to post every other day and save yourself for the ‘next great post’ you’re going to put out, instead of struggling to come up with great content every day.
Of course, we can do much better when it comes to writing on our favorite topics. Reading then writing is primary thing.
Hi Perky thanks for your comment mate. Writing comes more easily if you love the topic you’re writing about, agreed.
great tips.. i always ask my friend to write which you like but he is only pay attention on guest blogging will it affect to hiss site…
Quality is indeed for every blog, instead of posting 100 articles blindly, we can get more authority when posting 5-10 articles /month which help readers.
Case studies and success stories can convert more people, so practical ideas would work better than blindly posting an article just for instant traffic.
Thanks to the post.
I couldn’t agree with you more Naveen, you’ve just summed it up in that comment. Posting every other day is a perfect routine for blogging consistently I believe.
Hello,
I really like the three tips that you said. Well, I think staying consistent while blogging is not an easy task to do. More consistently, creating quality and unique content in your blog makes it more constant. Like you have said in your post that – “writing the things you love the most”. Thanks for the share!!
Hey Aditi great to see you here, yes indeed write about the things you love. I read somewhere that if you can write about the things you love most in blogging without ever making a dime from it, then you’ve picked the right niche
Well being consistent at blogging is not an easy task as it requires hard work and dedication.Writing about the things, which we love is must,BTW thanks for providing this wonderful article.
Thanks Ashish glad you liked the post and the points
You’re right being consistent is far from simple. I like the fact that your experience with fewer posts per week equates to quality. I agree also, overall it doesn’t matter how many posts we post, as long as you’re able to offer something unique and informative each time, that’s what matters.
Hi Fabrizio
Correct Points, before I was writing daily on tech blog but now I am writing on new blog twice in a week and really it doesn’t matter how many article you post in a week.
Quality is Important!!!

I feel like releasing a post or two each week feels more “authentic” than posting every day. I’m not sure how to explain it, but it just seems like when you post everyday, unless you have a team of writers, you are posting just for the sake of posting. When posts come out weekly, it’s almost as if all the effort which could have been spent on a daily post is combined to release a super high quality and comprehensive post. Instead of writing everyday, I like to spend each day adding bits of what I want to talk about in a brainstorming sheet, and on a specified day, I combine it into an actual post, and the following days I look over and add/subtract anything that’s out out of place. Just my opinion.
Hey Nancy that’s exactly my point. In the beginning it’s fine you’re always going to be fired up to write everyday and want to crank out a post as soon as you’ve published one. But that novelty soon wares off when you begin to realize that you’ve blogged about every possible thing in your niche so quickly and watered down too.
I agree with you since starting to write 3 or 4 posts per week myself, it’s been a lot more solid and thought through about what I’m writing. I use to publish a post the night before, and now I write and leave it for the morning, and usually change about 50% of what I wrote the previous night. It’s so easy to get caught up in the routine that you forget about providing quality and value. Have a great day
Hi Fabrizio,
Simple yet great tips you have mentioned here on how to stay consistent in blogging. Having a blogging schedule that you should stick to is a must for those who would like to always have updated content in their blogs. Good idea on writing 4 posts and then the rest would be guest posts in a week.
I agree with you on #2, if we love a certain topic/niche very much, we can easily write about it without much difficulty; and about the issue that writing/publishing must be everyday, I also agree that it does not have to be that way. While I see many bloggers tend to prefer posting everyday, blog engagement is lacking (which means no comments, no feedback from readers).
Hey that were some great tips. I was surely missing on some of the points or paying less attention to them. But you have put them in a easy and understandable way . So I will make sure to follow all of these.

Great post,
I have long since abandoned the allure of daily posting, (despite the fact that it can help).
I believe the best way to mastering an audience is by giving them the opportunity to react to your content, and that should take at least a couple of days.
My schedule is not fixed on concrete, but as a rule I never exceed three posts a week.
The rest I can send out as guest posts.

PrIyAnGsHu recently posted..What Reflects the Standard of Your Blog ?
Hey Fabrizio, in my opinion there is a huge difference between writing posts every day and publishing posts every day.
For example, on my blog, I publish at least one new post every single day, but I write these posts by batch, then I use WordPress timestamp to schedule them.
This way I can focus on promoting my posts during the rest of the week.

My Alexa had been falling rapidly with almost 4-5 posts a week and 2-3 comments a day. I have been working on improving the SEO of my previous posts since the last 3 days, and could not put up a fresh post. Though I have been commenting on 10-12 comment luv enabled blogs, the Alexa has started going up again!
Can you explain that please?
