Great points, for me building trust which leads to loyalty is the most crucial point in building subscribers. Abusing this rule can get you in a lot of trouble and give you an undesirable reputation, all it takes is one disgruntled subscriber. If you build targeted and loyal subscribers, give them what they originally signed up for and nothing that they didn’t opt-in for.

    Hey mate,

When creating and growing your list you need your lovely subscribers to be able to trust what you’re saying otherwise they will never become responsive to your recommendations or promotions.

Just as crucial is the quality level of the information that you send out to your list, common mistake is to send them offers on a regular basis, but that’s the fastest way to burn your list.

I only buy products from people I trust and respect, so the key to profits is definitely in the relationship you develop with your subscribers. We buy from friends not strangers, right?

Loyal subscribers are hard to find these days. You may have a lot of e-mails on your mailing lists but not all of them will give the same reaction you want to produce not only for your blogs but also for your finances. When this happens, you have to re-do your list building process all over again. This time though, you have to make sure that you only send e-mails to those who are genuinely interested in your e-mails.

    Hi Saad,

You have made some excellent points in this post. Building a list of subscribers is a very important part of a online business. When you give good information that gives value to your clients and save them precious time by keeping them updated for your industry it is appreciated. Take care Rosemary

I have seen and used the “free giveaway” part of list building several times and found that this type of list is actually the most unresponsive to sales. They get addicted to getting free stuff from you and the first time you ask for the sale they jump ship or your open rates drop like a stone. I changed my tactics and only build lists based on the information I can provide, not the free stuff I give away.

  14. says

Two main things to aim for when trying to make subscribers loyal is to, 1) help solve an emotional problem and 2) Incentivizing the sign up.

It’s important to give value first and help them solve their most gut wrenching issues.
